On Thrusday, July 15, join Alexx Deip for an online discussion on training at home for swimming.
Alexx has a diverse coaching background training both able body athletes and para swimmers. Under his tutelage, his athletes qualified for the Pan Am Games in modern pentathlon (PERU 2019), Para Pan Pacific Games in para swimming (AUS 2018), World Para Swimming Series (DEN 2018) and Canada Games (MB 2017). He was also involved with an international athlete during an open water marathon swimming while coaching in Sherbrooke, QC.
SCIENCE BASED APPROACH
When working with his athletes, Alexx uses a holistic approach building the program around the individual athlete’s needs. When teaching the technical aspects in swimming, his science based method becomes more dominant.
In this session, he will engage you in a discussion of the followings from a biomechanical perspective
- body position
- underwater kick
- Swimming more streamlined – streamlining is not only off the turns, it is also part of your swimming.
- Using the underwater kick – change your mindset on turns; build your tactics around this skill.
