SUMMARY:Global Laser Run City Tour - Edmonton
DESCRIPTION:[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Pentathlon Alberta is pleased to host a stop on the UIPM’s Global Laser Run City tour in Edmonton on October 9\, 2021.  \nWhat is UIPM Laser Run ?\nThe Laser Run is an exciting creation of UIPM\, coming from the combined event and launched in 2015 as a stand-alone event. It combines running and shooting in fast-paced and dynamic races including four rounds of laser pistol shooting from 3 to 10 meters distance and four times run from 200m to 800m. Athletes have to hit a target 5 times before they can run. The run will take place on Foote Field’s outdoor 400m track.  \nAthletes of all ages from 7 to 80 can participate. Pistols will be provided at the event but athletes are also welcome to bring their own.  \nAthletes will be assigned heats that align with their age category\, with males and females being separated but combined for efficiency in scheduling when needed. Each heat will be given their own warm-up time on both the track and shooting range before their race. A schedule of the heats will be posted before the event.  \nDistances\n \nThe laser pistols used in modern pentathlon are specific to the sport. They do not use live ammunition and do not require any special licenses to operate. You can read about our laser shooting policies here. \nTo register or for more information go to: https://laserrunedmonton.ca/[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
